| It has been suggested that this page be split into multiple pages accessible from a disambiguation page. |
This template will add tagged articles to Category:Articles to be split.
Contents |
[edit] Usage
If no parameters are passed, the template will display as above (i.e., {{split}}).
To suggest article names (or more than one), simply pipe them into the template. For example, {{split|Article 1|Article 2|Article 3}} produces:
| It has been suggested that this page be split into pages titled Article 1, Article 2 and Article 3, accessible from a disambiguation page. |
Up to 20 new names can be suggested. If only suggesting one article name, use {{split2}}.
To indicate that only parts of the current article should be split (and therefore no disambiguation page is necessary), use part=yes. For example, to prose a split of an article into two articles, using {{split|Article 1|Article 2|part=yes}} produces:
| It has been suggested that some portions of this page be split into pages titled Article 1 and Article 2. |
To add the year and month the template was added to the article, use date=May 2013.
To specify where the discussion about this split is taking place, use discuss=Talk:Article name#Talk page section.
[edit] Examples
A full example, directing talk to a section of the WikiQueer talk page, uses the code
{{split|Article 1|Article 2|Article 3|part=yes|discuss=Talk:WikiQueer#Split|date=May 2013}}
which produces:
| It has been suggested that some portions of this page be split into pages titled Article 1, Article 2 and Article 3. Please discuss this on the article talk page. (May 2013) |
