Be aware that WikiQueer deletes thousands of new articles for failing to adhere to our policies and guidelines. Thank you for your suggestion regarding page. When you feel an article needs improvement, please feel free to make those changes. WikiQueer is a wiki, so anyone can edit almost any article by simply following the edit link at the top. The WikiQueer community encourages you to be bold in updating pages. Don't worry too much about making honest mistakes — they're likely to be found and corrected quickly. If you're not sure how editing works, check out how to edit a page, or use the sandbox to try out your editing skills. New contributors are always welcome. You don't even need to log in (although there are many reasons why you might want to). {{subst:HD/fix|page}}

The most common cause of this problem is that you clicked on the Show Preview button instead of the Save Page Button:

If you do not click on Save Page, the edit will not be kept.

It used to be possible to re-attribute edits from IP addresses to named accounts in the software WikiQueer runs on (MediaWiki), but not since 2005 (see this page). However, as that page says, you can list your contributions made with the IP address(es) on your user page. {{subst:HD/re-attribute}}

Sharebox is a script that reorders your toolbox. It adds new buttons that make it easier to mail, print or share an article on Facebook or another linksharing service. You must have an account to add Sharebox to the sidebar. {{subst:HD/share}}

We have an Article Feedback Tool that is in a pilot deployment as of September 22, 2010. Only a few articles have the feedback tool— they are in the hidden Category:Article Feedback Pilot. When creating sortable tables, there can be issues with how a column sorts. See Help:Sorting for a complete overview.

Columns that mix alpha and numerical data will sort alphabetically— this can be resolved by using {{nts}}.
When using general text with and without wikilinks, use {{sort}}.
To sort dates, use {{dts}}.
For sorting names in the format last, first use {{sortname}}.

WikiQueer's software, MediaWiki currently has no method to control content other than manually blocking individual images for logged-in users. See also WQ:NOTCENSORED, WQ:CHILDPROTECT and WikiQueer:Guidance for younger editors. {{subst:HD/filter}}

URLs containing certain characters will display and link incorrectly unless those characters are encoded. For example, a space must be replaced by %20.

Single apostrophes do not need to be encoded; multiples will be parsed as italic or bold markup

It is not possible to delete user accounts, as all contributions must be assigned to some identifier; either a username or an IP address.

All WikiQueer editors have the right to leave WikiQueer for good (ie, permanently). The usual way to leave the WikiQueer project is simply to stop editing. Your contributions remain in WikiQueer. If you wish to resume editing at a later date, you can simply start again by logging into the same account. Old accounts that have any significant edits are almost never deleted or recycled to new users.

If you decide to make a fresh start and do not wish to be connected to a previous account, you can simply discontinue the old account(s) and create a new one that becomes the only account you use. Discontinuing the old account means it will not be used again; it should note on its user page that it is inactive— for example, with the {{retired}} tag —to prevent the switch being seen as an attempt to sock puppet.

Editors seeking privacy per their right to vanish can have their accounts renamed and their user pages and (in some cases) user talk pages deleted.
