Harvey Milk Day is organized by the Harvey Milk Foundation and celebrated globally each year on May 22 in memory of Harvey Milk, a gay rights activist and politician assassinated in 1978.

Harvey Milk Day Steering Committee

In 2010, the Harvey Milk Foundation organized a Harvey Milk Day Steering Committee, under the leadership of Nicole Murray-Ramirez and Anne Kronenberg, to begin expanding each year on Harvey Milk Day events around the globe.
